She Wings and National Commission for Women Launch Special Programme on Menarche to Menopause:

New Delhi, 28th May 2024 — She Wings, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW), successfully launched a special programme today, focusing on the critical topic of “Menarche to Menopause” The event, held at the NCW headquarters, commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment and empowerment of women throughout their lives.

The distinguished event was inaugurated by the Honorable Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Mrs. Rekha Sharma, who delivered an inspiring keynote speech. She highlighted the importance of comprehensive awareness and support systems for women’s health issues, spanning from menarche to menopause. Mrs. Sharma emphasized the need for continued advocacy and education to dismantle the stigma surrounding women’s health.

Special guest Mrs. Meenakshi Singh also addressed the attendees, sharing her valuable insights and experiences. Her speech underscored the importance of societal support and understanding of the physical and emotional changes women experience throughout their lives.

The event featured a unique and vibrant singing competition by the Aditya Group, which brought a celebratory and communal spirit to the programme. Participants showcased their talents, adding joy and a sense of unity to the occasion.

Following the competition, an award distribution ceremony was held to honor outstanding contributors and participants. Awards were given to those who have made significant efforts in promoting women’s health and well-being, as well as to the winners of the singing competition. Notable attendees, including Priyanka Chaudhary, Dr. Sabhyata Gupta, Dr. Upasana Arora, and Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj, along with various other doctors and women working with the commission, shared their views and insights during the event.

Madan Mohit Bhardwaj, Founder of She Wings, emphasized the importance of health in enhancing productivity among women, stating, “A woman becomes more productive when she’s in good health. Our endeavor is ‘Swasth Mahila, Swasth Parivar.’ This Menstrual Hygiene Day, our theme is ‘Together for a Period-Friendly World.

Supporting the cause, Ms. Meenakshi Singh, IRS, remarked, “We advocate for women’s education and financial independence. From small businesses to leading companies, women are everywhere. We must educate and empower women for the future.”
